The Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter (Model A1790) allows modern Mac computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports to connect to older Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 devices and cables. It enables backward compatibility with legacy high-speed peripherals such as older displays, storage arrays, and docking stations. Note that the adapter does not support USB-C devices or DisplayPort connections.
