8-Core Intel Processing

The TS-855eU-RP is powered by an Intel Atom C5125 8-core processor operating at 2.8GHz. Its 64-bit x86 architecture and AES-NI hardware encryption engine provide the computing resources required for file serving, backup, virtualization, surveillance and other business storage workloads.

Flexible 8-Bay Storage

Eight SATA 6Gb/s drive bays accommodate compatible 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, 2.5-inch SATA hard drives and 2.5-inch SATA solid-state drives. The system is supplied without storage drives, allowing organisations to select suitable drives and capacities for their workload and storage requirements.

Dual M.2 NVMe SSD Slots

Two onboard M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 slots support compatible NVMe SSDs. These high-speed SSD interfaces can be used to enhance storage performance and provide greater flexibility when configuring demanding business workloads.

2.5GbE with Expansion Capability

Dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide high-speed network connectivity out of the box. PCIe expansion slots further increase deployment flexibility by allowing compatible high-speed network adapters, QM2 cards and other supported expansion hardware to be installed as requirements grow.

Short-Depth 2U Design

The compact 2U rackmount chassis is only approximately 297mm deep, making the TS-855eU-RP particularly suitable for wall-mounted racks, AV cabinets and space-constrained IT environments. The reduced chassis depth can also leave additional cabinet space for cabling and ventilation.

Redundant Power Protection

The TS-855eU-RP configuration features redundant power supplies to improve service continuity. If one power supply encounters a problem, the redundant design helps reduce the risk of an immediate system shutdown caused by a single PSU failure.

QTS and QuTS hero Support

Businesses can deploy the NAS with QNAP QTS or switch to QuTS hero depending on their storage requirements. QuTS hero uses the ZFS file system and provides advanced data-integrity and data-reduction capabilities, while QTS is well suited to general file sharing, collaboration and hybrid HDD/SSD storage applications.
